On 7 to 8 February, Iskul Sama DiLaut Omadal organised a Paralegal Workshop at Seafest Hotel, attended by teachers, vocational students, two Omadal community representatives, and five participants from @borneokomrad. The workshop was conducted by @anaksabahorg.
Participants learned about children’s rights under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), with a focus on every child’s right to be registered at birth, have a name, and have a nationality. The session also covered the three types of birth registration in Sabah — normal, late, and delayed registration — including the steps and required documents.
Through interactive roleplay sessions, participants explored real-life scenarios, making the learning practical and engaging. Many students shared that they felt empowered and more confident about securing their rights. The workshop was supported by @yayasan_hasanah and the Ministry of Finance.
