Justice for Wildlife Malaysia (JWM) is looking for a Case Tracker (Peninsular Malaysia) to join the team in our mission to conserve wildlife in Malaysia via legal means.
The case tracker will be responsible for monitoring and tracking the progress of wildlife crime cases in Peninsular Malaysia, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on prosecutions and convictions. This role involves attending court proceedings to observe and document trial processes, preparing detailed case briefs, and conducting desktop research on wildlife crime and legislation in Peninsular Malaysia. The position also includes analysing court cases, assessing trial outcomes, and identifying potential gaps in prosecution or examination processes that may impact case success.
Additionally, the Case Tracker will collaborate closely with the Project Officer to provide insights for capacity-building initiatives and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders. The role also involves assisting in producing reports and presentations that inform JWM's wildlife conservation strategies.
Lastly, s/he has to maintain consistency in all assigned activities, adhering to the schedule to ensure that all outputs are delivered on time and meet the desired quality standards. In addition, she/he has to remain adaptable to any ad-hoc duties (to be kept minimal) as required by the Project Officer.

Requirements
Minimum qualification of Bachelor's Degree in Law, Criminology, Psychology, Conservation Science, or equivalent. 1-2 years of working experience is preferable.
Familiarity with the legal system in Malaysia is essential.
Interest and basic knowledge of wildlife conservation, law, and policy related to wildlife in Malaysia is essential
Familiarity with MS Office software and collaborative virtual platform (Google Suite and Dropbox)
is essential.
Ability to work under moderate pressure, with adaptability to last-minute changes and deadlines.
Ability to work in a team and liaise with legal professionals and law enforcement officers.
Ability to communicate well and professionally with stakeholders.
Bahasa Malaysia language proficiency required.
Possession of driving license (D) would be preferable.
Extensive travel required.
Salary offered: RM 3,200.00 - RM 4,200.00 (based on skill and experience)
Location: Klang Valley or Pahang (with flexible remote working arrangements)
Candidates must be available to start immediately.
This position is on a contract basis and is renewable yearly based on satisfactory performance.
