Presenting the Student Voice Matters (SVM) 2024 Report!
As the SPM 2024 examination approaches, it is important to recognise the significance of this milestone for students across the country. This year, we’ve had the unique privilege of hearing from over 1,100 Malaysian students whose diverse voices and experiences help shape our understanding of today's learners' various challenges and needs in an ever-evolving educational landscape.
Since its inception in 2020, the Student Voice Matters initiative has aimed to amplify the perspectives of Malaysian students. For 2024, we are excited to share insights centred on three key areas where adults can help prepare students for success in their SPM exams and beyond:
State/Future of Learning: Improving the Learning Experience
Students value engaging, relevant learning, and interactive methods like gamified tools (e.g., Quizizz, Kahoot) make SPM revision enjoyable and effective.
To acquire new information, I combine digital resources, textbooks, and note-taking. I also leverage interactive tools such as educational apps and collaborative platforms to enhance my learning experience, making the process more engaging and effective.

Student Well-Being: Students need emotional support and stress management strategies during this high-pressure period. Adults can help by recognsing stress, promoting open communication, and encouraging a balance between study and relaxation.
Cultivating Effective Learning Mindsets: A growth mindset helps students see challenges as opportunities, building resilience and a love of learning. Celebrating effort and progress boosts students’ confidence.
