Global Environment Centre (GEC) is seeking a Programme Officer to support activities related to river basin management, water conservation, environmental stewardship, climate resilience, community engagement, environmental education, and sustainable water management. The position is based at GEC Headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Responsibilities
• Support implementation of river basin management, water conservation, and environmental stewardship activities.
• Promote stakeholder engagement and community participation.
• Build partnerships with government, private sector, universities, communities, and the public.
• Organise workshops, events, and initiatives for project sustainability.
• Develop materials related to sustainable water management and climate change.
• Support environmental education, ESG, and awareness programmes.
• Assist in project collaboration and CSR activities.
• Support project visibility and communication with local communities and stakeholders.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Conservation or related field.
• Willing to be based at GEC HQ in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams.
• Experience in project planning and implementation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Environmental education experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of water volumetric balance.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Willing to travel and work independently at project sites.
• Driving licence and own transport are an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and social media content creation.
• Able to work flexibly, including weekends when required.
