The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinarian to provide expert care for rescued sun bears. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the health, welfare, and rehabilitation of the world’s smallest bear species.
Responsibilities
Conduct health assessments, diagnose illnesses, and treat injuries for sun bears.
Perform medical procedures including surgeries, diagnostics, and rehabilitation.
Develop and implement preventive health programs for bears in captivity and the wild.
Collaborate with conservationists, ecologists, and vet teams on research and conservation.
Maintain accurate health records and uphold veterinary and conservation standards.
Train and guide staff and volunteers on proper animal care and welfare.
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by officers or the CEO.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or A Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognized institution.
Minimum 3 years experience.
Professional knowledge and ethical standards in all aspects set by the MVC.
Ability to do postmortem and diagnose diseases accurately.
Display a high degree of accuracy, attention to details and the discipline to follow up outstanding matters.
Detail-oriented, good interpersonal skills, team player and possesses self-initiative.
Candidates must be prepared to travel.
Experienced in executing and improving procedures.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
