Recruit youth aged 18 to 27 from B40 and Orang Asli backgrounds into SOLS Foundation programmes, including the Solar Academy workforce development programme. This is a field-based, people-facing, target-driven role focused on community outreach, participant recruitment, and enrolment.
Responsibilities
• Recruit participants for SOLS programmes based on intake targets.
• Conduct outreach at schools, PPRs, Orang Asli villages, NGOs, colleges and youth groups.
• Brief youth and families on programme outcomes, commitment, allowances and job placement.
• Follow up with prospective participants and address concerns to improve enrolment.
• Track leads, follow-ups, conversions and drop-offs.
• Maintain recruitment trackers and submit weekly progress reports.
• Build trust with Tok Batin, parents and community leaders.
• Represent SOLS Foundation and the Solar Academy professionally and accurately.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years' experience in community outreach, student recruitment, sales, field work or grassroots engagement.
• Existing access to target communities is an advantage.
• Ability to engage Orang Asli communities, B40 communities, youth leaders, NGOs, religious groups and local champions.
• Able to build trust with Tok Batin, parents and community gatekeepers.
• Strong communication and persuasion skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Comfortable with cold outreach, initiating conversations and handling rejection.
• Able to manage follow-ups and work towards recruitment targets.
• Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
• Willing to travel frequently to rural and semi-rural areas.
