This year KAMY is developing our first GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion) framework for Just Energy Transition.
We need a Stakeholder Engagement Officer to coordinate engagement across civil society, communities, partners, and institutions, ensuring people’s voices shape Malaysia’s energy future.

⏰ Contract: Minimum 2 years, full-time
💰 Salary: ~RM 4,100/month (gross)

Responsibilities
Coordination and implementation
Coordinate meetings, workshops, consultations, and advocacy activities across GEDSI JET programme milestones.
Manage schedules, timelines, and follow-up actions to support smooth and timely implementation.
Work closely with the Programme Director and wider team to ensure engagement activities align with agreed workplans.
Engagement coordination
Contribute to mapping relevant actors, communities, and engagement pathways together with the programme team.
Participate in collective planning of engagement activities, including sequencing, timelines, and coordination needs.
Liaise and communicate with external actors and communities to support inclusive and meaningful participation.
Document engagement processes, outcomes, and key follow-up actions for learning and reporting purposes.
Administrative support
Provide logistical and administrative support for engagement activities, including preparation of materials, documentation, and reporting.
Support internal coordination and communication with KAMY programme, research, and operations teams as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. social sciences, development studies, environmental studies, public policy, or related discipline), with at least 2 years professional experience in programme coordination, project management, or related roles in NGOs, academia
Proven record in stakeholder engagement and management, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups (e.g. COs, communities, partners, or government agencies).
Demonstrated ability of organisational skills and problem solving, and proficiency in communication (written and verbal) in Bahasa Malaysia & English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace/Canva
Ability to use digital tools for coordination and reporting.
KAMY uses project management software and digital transcribing tools, with continuous training provided.
Proactive, positive, and learning-oriented attitude; open to feedback and committed to growth.
Ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple tasks with support from the team.
Familiarity with climate justice, energy transition, or human rights issues is an advantage.
