CIMB Foundation supported 'The Native Project' with the aim of providing solar panels to benefit 50 Orang Asli villagers in Kg. Pos Titom, Pahang, in collaboration with SKRLWN Enterprise, to combat energy poverty within the village.
Many indigenous communities residing in off-grid villages, including Kg. Pos Titom, a settlement of 250 villagers, lack access to electricity, living in darkness. Under the second phase of this project, an additional 6 solar panels were installed, increasing renewable energy for more longhouses and improving their access to electricity and light.
This initiative hopes to gradually provide clean energy to illuminate the entire Kg Pos Titom village via solar panel that will help villagers increase productivity, reduce expenses on diesel/high fuel costs and generators, minimize air pollution, and further improve their well-being.
