Description
A consultancy opportunity to conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis on the participation of young people (ages 10–24) in Malaysia, including mapping legal and policy frameworks, assessing participation platforms, identifying gaps, and providing actionable recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mapping and analysis of laws, policies, and procedures related to youth participation
- Identify and evaluate key government and non-government participation platforms
- Develop frameworks to assess quality and capacity of youth participation mechanisms
- Conduct data collection (KII, FGD, surveys) with stakeholders including young people
- Perform gap and causality analysis and provide recommendations
- Prepare inception, interim, and final reports
- Develop dissemination materials (presentations, infographics)
- Engage with stakeholders and Steering Committee for validation and feedback
Requirements
- Advanced degree in social sciences, law, public policy, human rights, or related fields
- Minimum 7 years (national) / 8 years (international) relevant experience
- Experience in child/youth participation, civic engagement, or policy analysis
- Strong analytical, research, and report writing skills
- Experience in multi-stakeholder research and consultations
- Knowledge of CRC and child rights frameworks
- Proficiency in English (and Bahasa Malaysia for national consultant)
- Experience handling qualitative and quantitative data
- Understanding of safeguarding and ethical research practices
