They are seeking a Programme Assistant to support the UNFPA Malaysia team by handling administrative, financial, and logistical tasks for social development.
Responsibilities
Programme Support: Assist in hiring/registering project implementing partners, coordinate and report on project planning/monitoring, prepare annual and quarterly work plans, facilitate project review meetings, draft minutes, and conduct project site monitoring visits. Financial Support: Prepare budget revisions based on work plans, monitor budgetary commitments, generate timely financial reports, review implementing partners' financial documents, handle project closures, and manage purchase orders. Administrative Support: Maintain official project files and archiving, manage logistics/meeting schedules for missions and activities, draft routine correspondence, facilitate knowledge sharing, and support office events (invitations, RSVPs). Communications Support: Serve as a backup to maintain and update office social media accounts, and provide data or programme briefs to communications colleagues.
Requirements
Education: * Completed Secondary Level Education (High School certificate) OR * Bachelor's degree (preferable in finance, public health, population, economics, demography, or related social sciences field).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the social sector/programme development if holding a High School certificate.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience if holding a Bachelor's degree.
Skills: Knowledge of results-based management, asset management, financial management, and strong writing/communication skills. Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and familiar with AI tools. Languages: Fluency in English and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia are required.
