Buku Jalanan Chow Kit (BJCK) is looking for passionate education and social impact enthusiasts to work with children and communities. Through our Alternative Learning Centre (ALC) and community programmes, we work alongside children and families in Chow Kit to expand access to education, strengthen communities, and create pathways towards a better future.
Responsibilities
- Conduct part-time tuition classes for children at the Alternative Learning Centre (ALC) in Chow Kit.
- Plan and prepare lessons and teaching materials suited to different ages and learning levels.
- Teach core subjects such as Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mathematics.
- Track each child’s progress and share updates with the education team.
- Create a safe, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment.
- Support BJCK’s wider community programmes and activities when needed.
Requirements
- Passionate about education, children and community work.
- Experience teaching or tutoring children, whether formal or informal, is an advantage.
- Comfortable working with children from vulnerable and diverse backgrounds.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt lessons to different learning needs.
- Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Able to commit to regular part-time hours at the centre in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur.
