HEINEKEN Malaysia, PWD Smart FarmAbility, and Sokong have launched a second Satellite Farm at Rumah Kebajikan Wargamas Charis, Shah Alam. This initiative, under the HEINEKEN Cares programme, aims to empower residents with sustainable farming skills, improve food security, and reduce reliance on external aid.
Since 2022, seven Satellite Farms have been established, with plans to expand further in 2024. The farms use the Soil-U-tion Aquaponics Proprietary System, integrating vegetable cultivation and fish rearing to promote self-sufficiency. The initiative has already shown success at En Yuan Old Folks Home by reducing food expenses and generating income through surplus produce sales.
The newly upgraded Satellite Farms feature next-generation Fiberglass Tank Models, increasing farming efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. These innovations support climate action and food security by enabling zero-waste, zero-food miles, and energy-free operations.
HEINEKEN Malaysia is amplifying community impact by matching public donations—contributing RM40 for every RM10 donated.
