Women of Will (WOW) are seeking a visionary Executive Director (ED) to lead WOW into its next phase, guiding the organisation strategically while expanding partnerships and developing our team to create even greater impact across Malaysia.
What You Will Do
1. Strategic Leadership and Governance
Develop and drive WOW’s strategic direction for the next 3-5 years.Work with EXCO to strengthen governance and align with organisational goals.Identify opportunities for expansion and replication of the WOWED Model in new communities.2. Fundraising and Partnership Development
Secure sustainable funding by building partnerships with corporates, foundations, and government bodies.Strengthen and expand WOW’s network to support the scaling of the organisation.Explore new revenue streams to ensure financial sustainability.3. Team Development and Capacity Building
Lead, mentor, and inspire a young, dynamic, and diverse team.Develop leadership capacity within the team to ensure WOW grows with empowered staff.Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.4. Operational Oversight and Impact Delivery
Oversee day-to-day operations while ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Ensure sound financial management by overseeing the organisation’s finances, ensuring the efficient allocation of funds and long-term financial sustainability.Work with the Programs Team to monitor key initiatives and ensure programmatic success.Implement and enhance operational systems to support organisational growth and efficiency.5. Community and Stakeholder Engagement
Represent WOW at events, conferences, and community gatherings.Engage with communities across Klang Valley, Kedah, Kelantan, Sabah, and beyond.Build relationships with key stakeholders to promote WOW’s impact and drive collaboration.
Candidate Criteria
We are looking for a driven and strategic leader with:
5-10 years of experience in NGOs or social impact organisations.At least 3 years in a leadership role with experience managing teams and strategic planning.Strong fundraising and partnership-building skills, with a proven track record of securing funding.A passion for empowering women and low-income communities.Ability to develop and mentor a young, diverse team, fostering growth and leadership.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across multiple sectors.Willingness to travel regularly across Klang Valley, Kedah, Kelantan, and Sabah.Strong organisational and business management skills to support WOW’s scaling efforts.
