We’re looking for a Documentation & Monitoring Coordinator to lead the work of recording, analysing, and amplifying human rights issues in Malaysia. From building databases to shaping SUARAM’s annual Human Rights Report and advocacy materials—this role sits at the heart of our work.
The is a core position within SUARAM. The Documentation and Monitoring Coordinator will lead the documentation and monitoring of human rights issues and violations, including maintaining internal databases and public platforms. The role also involces conducting research and producing SUARAM's annual Human Rights Report, thematic reports and production of advocacy materials. The Coordinator also expected to represent organisations in any relevant events whether national or international level.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate documentation and monitoring of human rights issues and violations, including maintaining internal databases and public platforms.
Lead the research, writing, production, and publication of SUARAM’s human rights reports, including annual and overview reports.
Coordinate the launch of the reports and support related organisational events, including the Annual Human Rights Award.
Conduct thematic research and fact-finding missions, and apply findings to support advocacy, lobbying, and campaign efforts.
Produce advocacy materials, including press statements, position papers, and submissions.
Collaborate with internal teams, local networks, and international partners to strengthen documentation and advocacy work
Represent the organisation in relevant forums related to human rights documentation and monitoring.
Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience in research and writing; experience in data analysis is an added advantage.
Strong command of both English and Malay (spoken and written).
