Requirements
Applicants should:
Preferably be either graduates in economics, political science, public policy, urban studies or other related fields; OR graduates in other fields who have career experience in policy research. Exceptional graduates from other fields may be considered on a case-to-case basis.
We are also seeking applicants with background in environment, climate, humanitarian work or sustainability. Experience in the energy sector or disaster management is a plus.
We are also seeking applicants with interests or backgrounds in digital and technology policy. Experience with AI, data governance, or cybersecurity is a plus.
Have 3-5 years' work experience in policy research, with evidence of moving towards specialisation in a particular area. However, fresh graduates or those with 1-2 years’ work experience may also apply.
Possess strong writing skills and are fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Tamil are an advantage.
Possess an interest in policy research and the multi-faceted causes and potential solutions to the issues tackled in this field.
Be able to demonstrate strength in qualitative and/or quantitative research, with interest in sharpening their existing research competencies as well as learning other methodologies.
Be able to synthesise information from a variety of fields and connect them to research within a Malaysian context.
