As the founder of Kolektif Iklim, a youth-led group focused on the intersection of climate action and biodiversity conservation, Aidil has played an active role in shaping Malaysia’s environmental policies. Kolektif Iklim serves on the Climate Change Consultation Panel under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, advising the Malaysian government on national climate strategies.
In 2024, with the support of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation, Aidil launched Jejak Liar, a citizen science initiative that introduced the Young Birders Program, aimed at fostering species literacy and promoting bird-watching among Malaysian youth.
Previously, he served as a Youth Climate Champion with UNICEF Malaysia, contributing to strategies that empower young people to take action on environmental issues. Currently, Aidil is a policy research intern at Khazanah Research Institute, a role he will hold until January 2025.
Making an impact means focusing on the difference made at the community level. It involves transforming the lives of young people amidst environmental uncertainties, equipping them with resilience, and ensuring they feel included and empowered.
