Hartalega’s sustainability efforts are premised on Economic, Environmental and Social considerations while focusing on four key pillars: Safeguarding the environment, Caring for employees, Contributing to the wellbeing of local communities and Upholding the highest standards in business practices and product quality.

The net profit during FY2021 was at RM2.89 billion.

Reflecting a dividend payout ratio of 60%, Hartalega’s total payout was at RM1.7 billion.

A total cash contribution of RM1 million was made by Hartalega during FY2021, as found in their annual report.

The total monetary amount of in-kind contribution given by Hartalega was not detailed in their annual report.

Each pack included face masks, hand sanitisers, food vouchers and informative leaflets to spread awareness on COVID-19 preventive measures. Hand sanitisers and sanitising equipment were also donated to benefit 9,000 students across 18 schools.

This project reached approximately 2,000 primary school students in Sarawak, Sabah and Perak.

6Discover Muay Thai (DMT)N/AUpskilling programmeN/A8 participantsDiscover Muay Thai (DMT) is a four-month programme consisted of two components; DMT Academy Programme and Work Placement and Monitoring Programme. The DMT Academy focused on modules such as English language skills, entrepreneurship skills, customer service, volunteering sessions, team building, financial management and ethics. The Work Placement and Monitoring Programme was aimed at providing financial security and upskilling opportunities.The programme helped eight participants to secure employment and continues to provide mentorship.

8Denai Sungai' programmeN/ARiver conservation project, sponsored gloves and t-shirtsN/AParticipantsCSR Hartalega collaborated with the Selangor State Department of Environment (DOE) on a river conservation project conducted at Denai Alam, Shah Alam. The Denai Sungai programme aimed to increase awareness among the community on environmental preservation and the importance of the proper disposal of e-waste and with volunteers participating in river cleaning activities. Hartelga also sponsored gloves and printed t-shirts for the volunteers.
9Plogging with the communityN/ACommunity plogging activityN/AParticipantsCSR Hartalega partnered with the Department of Environment (DOE) to organise a community plogging activity in Pantai Bagan Lalang, Sepang where participants, provided with reusable bags, picked up litter while jogging along the beach area to promote healthy lifestyles and good environmental habits.
