In recent years, KAMY has been strengthening advocacy towards a Just Energy Transition (JET) in Peninsula Malaysia as part of the journey towards better climate governance. 🌏
We’ve built and share capacity with diverse stakeholders, carried out participatory researches, published key knowledge products, and engaged across themes like women empowerment and gender equality, Indigenous Peoples, business and human rights, and legal empowerment.
Now, we’re looking for a full time Project Coordinator to support two key activities in our JET programme and be part of this expanding work. You will be working collaboratively with our JET team and also get wider support from KAMY colleagues, with training provided.

Responsibilities
Coordination and Implementation
Plan and coordinate meetings, workshops, consultations, and advocacy events under two JET programme milestones.
Manage schedules and track progress to ensure smooth implementation.
Stakeholder Management
Liaise and communicate effectively with stakeholders, partners, and communities to support meaningful participation in the Just Energy Transition programme.
Administrative Support
Provide logistical and administrative support, including documentation and reporting.
Maintain smooth operations and communications overall.
Expectations
This is a mid-level leadership role: you will take ownership of coordination tasks, working independently while reporting directly to the JET Programme Lead.
You will collaborate directly with the JET Researcher.
You will get support from the wider KAMY team, and maintain smooth operations communications overall.

Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. social sciences, development studies, environmental studies, public policy, or related discipline), with at least 2 years professional experience in programme coordination, project management, or related roles in NGOs, academia
Proven record in stakeholder engagement and management, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups (e.g. CSOs, communities, partners, or government agencies).
Demonstrated ability of organisational skills and problem solving, and proficiency in communication (written and verbal) in Bahasa Malaysia & English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/ Google Workspace/Canva
Ability to use digital tools for coordination and reporting.
KAMY uses project management software and digital transcribing tools, with continuous training provided.
Proactive, positive, and learning-oriented attitude; open to feedback and committed to growth.
Ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple tasks with support from the team.
Familiarity with climate justice, energy transition, or human rights issues is an advantage.
