3HLB Jumpstart - GREEN HERON/AUpskilling initiativesN/ACommunityGreen Hero operates an online F&B business selling surplus food at a reasonable price. This ensures that food waste is reduced, and the less privileged community have access to nutritious food at an affordable price. Since partnering with GREEN HERO, they have seen a 271% increase in sales and saved 104,882 meals from landfills, marking a 6,012% growth since inception.
5HLB Jumpstart - THE ASLI CO.N/A1,200 mangrove saplingsN/A35 orang asli mothersThe Asli Co. aspires to empower indigenous mothers with a long term goal to uplift them from poverty and support their children’s education. Currently, 42 Orang Asli mothers have been trained to produce and sell artisan soaps, indoor succulent pots, WHO-compliant fabric masks, hand sanitisers, disinfectant sprays, among others. Since partnering with THE ASLI CO, they have seen a 402% increase in sales and provided job opportunities to 70 mothers from the Orang Asli community.

Beneficiaries of Hong Leong Bank Berhad

Hong Leong Bank Berhad reported community investments of RM476,600 in FY2024, equivalent to a 0.01% profit-to-giving ratio, representing an increase from RM350,000 in the previous year. The majority of its contributions were allocated to educational initiatives (35.7%), followed by welfare (28.6%) and environmental causes (17.9%).

A significant portion of HLB’s initiatives focused on education through ongoing programmes such as HLB Jumpstart, Program Kasih Harmoni and Program Celik Muamalat. Most of the Bank’s giving was directed towards community beneficiaries (44%), followed by youth (20%) and environmental beneficiaries (12%). However, HLB reported a decline in total employee volunteer hours, recording 3,091 hours in FY2024 compared to 7,943 hours in FY2023.
