The Group declared a higher dividend payout ratio for FY2024 at 55.5% which amounts to RM5.04 billion.

CIMB Islamic in Malaysia contributed a total Corporate Zakat of RM12 million in FY2024.

Total cash contributions made by CIMB during FY2024 amounted to RM28.3 million, disbursed through Community Investments.

Three full cohorts were completed, onboarding over 176 micro-entrepreneurs who received intensive training, coaching and the opportunity to pitch their business ideas. A notable enhancement this year was the introduction of company incorporation in the curriculum, preparing participants to transition from micro-businesses to fully established Sdn Bhd entities.
12CIMB Islamic Entrepreneurship Programme – Itaajir 2.0RM0.55MN/AN/A98 entrepreneursTAAJIR 2.0, a collaboration between CIMB Islamic and IIUM, supports micro-entrepreneurs from underserved communities through equipment grants and hands-on entrepreneurship training. Now in its third cycle, the programme has benefited four additional micro-entrepreneurs. CIMB Islamic also contributed RM100,000 to establish the CIMB IIUM Entrepreneurship Lab—now fully operational as a hub for training, community development and future business ventures.

Over the past two years, 136 employees dedicated their weekends to helping with translation for Australian doctors and guiding patients through the treatment process, ensuring smoother access to eye care services for elderly and underserved communities.

19Partnership with Green ConnectN/ASolar PV systemN/ABeneficiariesOrganic waste from F&B businesses is collected and transported to Green Connect’s treatment facility, where it is converted into nutritious feed for laying hens using biotechnology and smart logistics. CIMB supported the installation of a solar PV system at the facility, which is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 1,308 tonnes and save 96 million annually in electricity costs, enabling Green Connect to expand its humane farming model and community impact.
20Environmental conservation in CambodiaN/A1,500 treesN/AEnvironmentCIMB Bank, in collaboration with the National Apsara Authority, led a major reforestation effort at Angkor Archaeological Park. The initiative planted over 1,500 trees and 5,000 square metres of grass to help conserve Cambodia’s natural heritage. More than 500 participants—including local communities, government agencies and CIMB staff—joined the effort. Over the next two years, CIMB will support the preservation and planting of more than 5,000 additional trees in alignment with national conservation goals.
21Doing More With BambooN/A6,000 bamboo seedlingsN/AEnvironmentSince 2011, CIMB Niaga and the KEHATI Foundation have advanced the Bamboo Conservation Programme, planting nearly 60,000 bamboo seedlings across West Java, Lombok, Bali, Flores and Magelang. In 2024 alone, 6,000 seedlings were planted. The programme also expanded to include training on bamboo cultivation, product development, composting and polybag production to help strengthen the livelihoods of bamboo farmers.

CIMB Group Holdings Berhad disbursed RM28.3 million in FY2024, representing a 0.37% cash-to-profit giving ratio, which was lower than the previous year’s 0.47%. Its community investments were primarily allocated towards education (25.5%), followed by the environment (23.4%) and welfare (21.3%). Most of CIMB’s contributions were targeted towards the community at large (27.7%), followed by youth initiatives (25.5%) and environmental causes (21.3%).

Key initiatives included the CIMB Back to School programme, which provided school supplies to students, school facility improvements in Thailand by CIMB Thai, as well as educational and upskilling programmes for youth and the wider community. Moreover, CIMB Group reported an increase in employee volunteer hours to 216,000 hours, up from 203,245 hours in the previous financial year.
