Klima Action Malaysia (KAMY) is looking for a Research Coordinator to support the implementation of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) under the Just Energy Transition (JET) programme. The role focuses on coordinating research engagements, managing programme budgets and finances, supporting research operations, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring research deliverables are completed on time.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate the logistics and operations of all GEDSI-JET research engagements.
• Manage the GEDSI-JET programme budget and finances.
• Support the Research Officer and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to ensure research deliverables are completed on time.
• Coordinate, schedule and manage logistics for RTDs, FGDs, KIIs and meetings.
• Develop and maintain activity timelines and monitor participation.
• Ensure accessibility for persons with disabilities during engagements.
• Collaborate with research and stakeholder engagement teams to achieve programme objectives.
• Develop and maintain detailed budget projections.
• Monitor programme expenditure and track spending against projections.
• Prepare budget scenarios and forecasts when required.
• Coordinate procurement and payment processes.
• Lead financial and narrative donor reporting activities.
• Communicate programme progress, risks and challenges.
• Provide operational and administrative support, including programme documentation and records management.
Requirements
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, development studies, environmental studies, gender studies, public policy or related disciplines.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in research coordination, project management or related roles in NGOs, academia or research institutions.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Proven experience in research coordination and administration.
• Experience managing research workflows and documentation.
• Experience supporting researchers or programme teams.
• Experience in budget management or financial tracking.
• Ability to monitor expenditure and prepare projections.
