Reef Check Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Programme Manager based in Semporna. The work will be mainly centred in the office in Semporna Town but regular travel to other parts of Sabah is required. As an Assistant Programme Manager, you will assist the implementation of our long-term marine conservation programme plan according to established Reef Check Malaysia practices and procedures, with the goal of establishing co-management to sustainably manage Semporna’s marine ecosystems and promoting sustainable waste management. The Assistant Programme Manager will also be expected to assist with the implementation of Reef Check Malaysia’s EcoAction, Science, Advocacy, and Management programmes in Malaysia.

Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of pilot waste management programme in Semporna town, which involves regular stakeholder consultations, including government officials and villagers.
Coordinate community surveys and manage village engagement team, including contributing to data analysis and reporting.
Engage and consult with coastal communities to foster community involvement in Reef Check Malaysia’s projects
Contribute to the development of communication materials and implement awareness programs on marine conservation, targeting schools and local
Assist in managing budget and financial accounts for Semporna programmes.
Participate in relevant field activities under Reef Check Malaysia, as required by the Programme Manager
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a related discipline
Excellent written and verbal communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English
Proficient with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Minimum 2 years working experience in environmental conservation or related position
Right to work in Malaysia (We are unable to sponsor working visas)
