Develop and implement ADPAN’s communications strategy (traditional media, social media, website, bulletins, newsletters).
Draft and edit press releases, opinion pieces, and advocacy statements.
Manage ADPAN’s online presence and ensure timely dissemination of campaign materials and updates.
Produce multimedia content (videos, graphics, infographics) for advocacy campaigns.
Support the planning and execution of advocacy campaigns, events, and regional initiatives.
Assist in drafting policy briefs, advocacy letters, and correspondence for stakeholders.
Coordinate with member organizations to gather stories, case updates, and advocacy materials.
Monitor developments in the region relevant to ADPAN’s work for communications and campaigns.
Liaise with media and journalists to increase coverage of ADPAN’s work.
Engage civil society networks, human rights defenders, and policymakers to build alliances.
Support fundraising and donor engagement by preparing communications materials and impact stories.
Perform other functions as assigned by the Regional Director/Convenor.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, human rights, law, or related fields.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in communications, advocacy, or human rights work (regional experience preferred).
Excellent oral and writing skills in English; proficiency in additional Asian languages is an asset.
Strong editing skills.
Knowledge of video editing and design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Familiarity with human rights issues (death penalty, criminal justice reform preferred).
Ability to design social media content (graphics, reels, videos), manage websites (WordPress), and use digital communication tools.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently (hybrid/remote setting).
Desirable Skills
Photography.
Media engagement and public relations experience.
Understanding of regional advocacy mechanisms (ASEAN, UN human rights systems).
