Description
The Pulai Trail area is one the last remaining public green spaces in Bukit Persekutuan (also known as Federal Hill). The trail is a 1km loop, with a main entrance off Jalan Negeri Sembilan. Free Tree Society has been actively maintaining the trail, accessible from the adjacent neighbourhood of Bangsar, and our Bangsar Nursery, to encourage an appreciation for the potential of urban biodiversity and conservation.
FTS runs two weekly conservation and trail maintenance activities for the Pulai Trail.
Groups taking part in these activities will traverse the Pulai Trail to learn about urban forest regeneration, upkeep the trail and plant for biodiversity. Both activities will take 2 hours and are suitable for ages 13 years and upwards.
Volunteer sessions are open to only fully-vaccinated individuals who have “Low Risk” status on MySejahtera.
Plant the Pulai includes:
- a short talk on urban biodiversity
- a guided walk through the trail, with its history and points of interest highlighted
- plant a tree per person to help boost biodiversity
- trail upkeep and maintenance
Conserve the Pulai includes:
- trail building, maintenance and upkeep a.k.a a great outdoor workout!
Fee will be collected for Plant the Pulai trail as donations for upkeep of the trail, additional plants for biodiversity and to cover the costs of the trail leader, with any surplus channeled towards consultation of scientists and experts to assist in documenting data on the flora and fauna within the Pulai Trail.
