The Programme Officer role would be attached under our social enterprise wing Ratio Cause and support in advocating and creating impact for various social issues through leading the development and curation of programmes aligned to the organisation’s goals and objectives. This role includes but is not limited to developing and strategizing programmes as well as planning through the on-ground research and findings, implement, monitor and report the execution of the programmes. The Programme Officer also provides input for the knowledge production, creative development, operations plan, including budget, and prepares inputs for projects and programmes for reporting.
As part of our passionate team, our ideal candidate will oversee a wide range of programs in the organisation. They will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program. They will be an excellent multi-tasker working across a variety of project components at any given time. They will be extremely organised and able to independently manage their own time, workflow and scheduling in order to meet deadlines, while building a strong knowledge of program management principles as well as a strategic mindset. The goal of this role is to ensure every program will be delivered effectively and successfully while ensuring the highest possible impact created and value to the organisation. Interested candidates must be able to commit to full-time work , with the possibility of some weekends and evenings, depending on the timing of key events, and the potential addition of extra days if needed. Work arrangement is hybrid with a balance of working from the office and home.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and input on the design of key events including initiate and setting goals for programme according to the strategic objectives of the organisation and on-ground research finding in communities
Develop, plan and execute programmes involving deadlines, milestones, processes, budgets and operations
Lead the design of each programme through devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
Manage and discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people as well as apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
Oversee and expand on the organisation’s work to engage with the audience to achieve organisation’s goals
Produce awareness raising and informative materials for communities on the ground
Coordinate and conduct needs assessment analysis among marginalised communities in urban and rural areas
Requirements
Relevant experience with campaign or project management;
Creative, proactive and able to think outside of the box in curating strategies and developing solutions
Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge managing local/national programmes and management techniques and methods;
Demonstrated experience of performance techniques and key metrics, reporting and budgeting
Fluency in written & oral English & Malay; fluency in other languages is a bonus
Acute attention to detail;
Excellent organisational and leadership skills with great problem solving abilities;
Excellent interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate complex sensitive social ideas to engage with a wide range of audiences and effectively report to the management team and partners;
High levels of self-motivation and self-management; ability to plan and conduct work with minimal supervision;
Experience with digital storytelling and video production is a bonus;
Experience, knowledge and passion in areas of migration, social change, diversity or human rights issues are desirable;
Flexible with travelling outstation for on ground work if needed.
