The Pre-Service Programme is a preparatory course for Fellows before the Fellowship and the aim is for Fellows to be empowered collective leaders that are equipped to make impact since day 1 of Fellowship and have vision for systemic change.
With the larger purpose of achieving PSP’s Vision and Goals, the School Lead is ultimately accountable and
responsible for student impact, Fellows development and stakeholder engagement throughout Kem SKORlah
- The practical experience opportunity for Fellows before they start the Fellowship
In order to achieve the Mission for this role, a PSP School Lead will hold the following responsibilities but are not limited to the following:
1. Fellow Development & Student Impact
● Identify and maintain Kem SKORlah learning experience for both students and Fellows that will achieve intended outcomes
● Coordinate and manage onboarding and training of Kem SKORlah with relevant teachers, Fellows, and PSP staff members
● Monitor the progress of students and Fellows throughout Kem SKORlah and carry out intervention activity to ensure intended outcomes are achieved
2. School & Student Recruitment
● Cultivate and manage relationships with school stakeholders that onboard for Kem SKORlah 2024
● Coordinate and manage the timetable with school stakeholders and PSP team
● Coordinate student recruitment process to achieve the target number of students
● Work closely with PSP Operation Team to ensure the logistical aspect for Kem SKORlah covered smoothly
● Monitor the execution of practical experience
Requirements
1. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
● Passion for Teach For Malaysia’s mission and the movement
● Desire to operate within the Teach For Malaysia’s Core Values
2. Role-Specific Competencies
● Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work, and independently prioritise tasks
● Excellent reasoning, problem solving and process-based thinking skills - including responding to the needs of Fellows and staff in the PSP environment
● Able to think strategically and in resourceful manner on PSP
● Strong stakeholder engagement and management experience and skills
3. Years of experience & qualification
● Minimum 2 years working experience, ideally in project management and school experience
● Bachelor’s degree or diploma with equivalent experience
Leadership Experience & Team Adaptability
● Ability to be adaptable in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, achievement-oriented environment
● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and stakeholders
● Able to build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholder, private and public
sectors
4. Language & Technical Proficiency
● Strong written and verbal skills and excellent proficiency in English and basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia
● Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel
● Willing and able to readily adopt and utilise any TFM database or technological platform / application (i.e. Google Suites, Confluence, Salesforce, Zoom etc.)
