Meet "Paco the Hermit Crab" and its Creator's Quest to Teach Children on Plastic Pollution

As an ocean enthusiast and scuba diver, the sea is no stranger to Gloria Chieng, a Malaysian author currently residing in Melbourne, Australia. Distraught by the enormous amounts of plastic washed ashore and found underwater, she decided to write a children's book that tells the tale of Paco, an adventurous and free-spirited hermit crab, and its partner Annie, a sea anemone, on a quest to live a life away from plastic pollution!

Through "Paco the Hermit Crab," Gloria aims to inculcate a desire in children, and their adult parents, to respect the ocean and its marine creatures. In the near future, she hopes to translate this story into local languages so that the universal story of Paco can be heard beyond cultural borders.
