Manager/Senior Manager, Social Impact Strategy in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand At Grab
This role is an integral function of the Regional Sustainability Team. The Regional Sustainability Team is responsible for managing the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) impact for Grab. As a regional function, your work will span across the entire South East Asia region. The team is responsible for planning, internal & external stakeholder engagement, project management and subject matter expertise for ESG-related matters.
We are looking for a social impact leader that lives and breathes our mission of “Driving Southeast Asia Forward by creating economic empowerment for everyone”. In this role, you will be championing real-world impact and Grab’s overall social impact strategy towards supporting our partner communities (our driver-, delivery- and merchant-partners) to build sustainable livelihoods and improve long-term quality of life. This role also supports the GrabForGood Fund, which includes grant-making and allocation of funds.
Key areas of focus include financial inclusion, digital inclusion, educational empowerment and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion)
This role works cross-functionally with Business Operations, Product and Tech, Marketing and PR, Public Affair and Policy, etc. to develop and implement strategies and programs.
This role is considered to be based in Malaysia or Indonesia or Thailand.
The Day-to-Day Activities
Strategies: Developing regional social impact strategy and working closely with local teams to localize and implement.
Partnerships: Collaborating with local and regional NGOs, nonprofits, government agencies, and corporates for joint-programs and solutions
Programs: Developing end-to-end programs and solutions, aligning key stakeholders and collaborating with local teams and partners for implementation.
Impact measurement and reporting: Implement effective methodology and process for measuring impact, impact analysis and reporting.
Thought leadership: Driving industry-leading research and insights to guide focus areas for impact and drive catalysts for change within South East Asia.
Internal capabilities: Developing curriculum to educate, guide and drive employee engagement towards social sustainability subject matters
The Must-Haves
Unyielding passion and empathy to bring positive change to the community
Bachelor’s Degree in any field
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant work experience in sustainability, social impact, management consulting, strategy, marketing, communications, corporate affairs/public policy or NGOs/nonprofits with large organizational structure experience.
Effective communicator capable of delivering a clear, concise and consistent message, both verbally and in writing.
Intermediate or Advance competency on Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Words
Understanding of the public policy landscape and strategy is an added advantage.
