The Biji-biji Initiative focuses on running educational and awareness programmes related to environmental sustainability and capacity development pertaining to environmental initiatives. Our programmes impact the communities, environmental organisations, youths and adults with the aim to increase knowledge on sustainable practices, enhance skill sets and build organisational capacity, with the larger goal to create positive environmental change.
We are looking for an Instructional Designer with a relevant background in environmental sustainability to assist us in our programme modules and content development.
The ideal candidate would be expected to:
Work closely with the in-house Instructional Design Team and modules trainers to curate, develop & improve the learning materials for the modules and programmes, including but not limited to contents for tutorials, workshops, assignments, quizzes, learning activities, pre-recorded video lessons, and others
Have relevant experience in developing educational content and training modules relevant to environment and sustainability, including (but not limited to):
Sustainable Development and the SDG’s
ESG
Recycling (with a focus on plastics)
Climate Change
Waste Management
Capacity Building for Environmental Programmes/Initiatives
Communications and Advocacy
Possess a Degree or Master related to Sustainability, Environmental, Education, Entrepreneurship, Social Studies, or other relevant fields
2 - 4 years professional experience in instructional design, module development, curation of online and blended learning courses. Teaching/training experience with TTT (or HRDF-certified) will be an advantage
Excellent written and spoken command of both English and Malay languages
A strategic and fast-thinker who is able to work independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced and high-demand environment
