    Description

    Founded in 2025, SPROUT (Supporting Progress, Rights, Outreach, and Understanding on Reproductive Health) is a network dedicated to empowering low-income women by providing them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

    We are seeking a Finance Officer to manage the financial aspects of our programs, including budgeting, reporting, and ensuring the smooth allocation of funds. This role will support SPROUT’s mission to empower low-income women through education and advocacy.

    Commitment: 1 year (Part-time, flexible hours)

    Compensation: This is a paid position with compensation determined on a project basis and contingent upon available funding.

    Tentative Start Date: 1st March 2025

    Responsibilities
    • Prepare and manage program budgets, ensuring all expenses are within approved limits.
    • Monitor financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records for all program-related activities.
    • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and donor requirements.
    • Prepare monthly financial reports for the team and external stakeholders, including donors and partners.
    • Support the Program Officer in managing funds and identifying cost-effective strategies for resource allocation.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for grant applications and fundraising campaigns.
    • Track and report on in-kind contributions, donations, and sponsorships.
    • Coordinate with external accountants or auditors, as required.
    • Provide financial advice and support in making funding-related decisions.
    • Review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with financial terms, as required.
    Requirements
    • Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting practices.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A passion for social impact and supporting women’s rights and health initiatives.
    • Prior experience in a finance role is preferred but not required.
