Empowering Sabah's Future: Robotics, AI, and Community - Driven Solutions Transform STEM Education

The Social Innovation Movement, a leader in creating impactful community development programs, today provided an exciting update on their groundbreaking Invest4Good: Sabah Education campaign. This initiative is revolutionizing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Sabah through the integration of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI), driven by the innovative Social Impact through Local Engagement (SITEL) method.

Since the campaign's launch, Dr. Jane Chang and Professor Ainurul Rosli have been pioneering the use of SITEL, enhancing community engagement and measuring social impact through the Social Return on Investment (SROI) framework. Recent advancements include:

• Empowering Young Minds Project: Focused on both quantitative and qualitative impact measures, the project has trained 30 teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Lok Yuk Likas and 30 other schools in Kota Kinabalu, reaching over 120 students.
• Statewide STEM Carnival: Held on May 11, 2024, the carnival showcased the newly developed STEM skills among students from various schools that participated, promoting broader interest in technology and innovation.
  Documentary Feature: Community Empowerment Initiatives Sabah is producing a documentary that will capture the transformative effects of the project on all participants and stakeholders.
