The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has come to expose flaws in our socio-economy with worsened societal gender equality as domestic violence is more prevalent than ever before with the stay-at-home measures, disproportionately affected gender-dominated jobs such as nurses due to overwhelmed systems, increased housecare/childcare burden and etc.

In this panel disussion, we aim to provide a comprehensive insight into the impacts of COVID-19 on societal gender equality in Malaysia

We will be joined by expert organizations including YWILD Malaysia, StandUp Malaysia, Monsters Among Us, and potentially more in exploring the gender-based issues faced across Malaysia that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ultimately, we aim to:

1. Shed light on gender equality issues affecting Malaysia and how this has worsened with the COVID-19 pandemic
2. Educate on the impact and effect gender equality issues can inflict
