The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the way key audiences perceive the Institute and guide effective communication of the Institute's messages to its key audiences. You will drive brand awareness by being involved in all stages of the communications process from concept to message development to result-oriented evaluation. You will also oversee the timeline and deliverables of research projects.

Responsibilities
Policy Communications, Content Strategy and Management
Develop and execute an overall communications strategy for the Institute, including brand positioning.
Work with various research project teams on strategic content and messaging for public outreach which may include social media content strategy, media strategy, and knowledge events.
Work with research project teams to oversee the publication production process e.g., sourcing for editors, translators, printers, designer etc.Project Coordination
Internal project governance: approval checklists prior to proposal and publication
Oversee a centralised database of KRI’s external stakeholders.Public Relations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with the media and other relevant external stakeholders and make media pitchesEvent Management
Organise and coordinate internal and external knowledge events or other external engagements.
Also includes public outreach programmes/events about the InstituteDigital Marketing
Strategise and manage the Institute’s online presence via its website, various social media platforms, and an online newsletter to increase public outreach.
Oversee website content and design to ensure effective delivery of research content.Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor and report of KRI’s media appearances, traction in public.
Monitor and report KRI’s web and media analytics meaningfully.
Monitor and report KRI researchers’ engagements with external stakeholdersCrisis Management
Work together with the Chief Operating Officer to advise the management on recommended plan of action.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
University degree in communications or journalism, development economics, international relations or political sciences, or other relevant fields.
Minimum 6 years of experience in communications operations, public relations and/or marketing.
The Ideal Candidate
Experienced or motivated to work in a non-profit public policy research organisation or think tank that focuses on nation-building and policy issues.
Ability to simplify complex research content into more digestible communications content and products for the public.
Experience in organising knowledge or corporate events (virtual/physical/hybrid).
Demonstrable track record of progressively senior communications or media relations experience – preferably in government, academia, non-profit or nongovernmental organizations – including pitching and communicating with journalists and setting up interviews and creating and executing communications strategies.
Experience posting and formatting content using a Content Management System (CMS).
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite for social media analytics and Mailchimp for event management or other relevant tools or software related to the job description.
Outstanding organization and time-management skills—ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with acute attention to detail.
Proactive in identifying opportunities and finding solutions.
Experience effectively working with multiple teams.
