Technology will not replace great teachers but technology in the hands of great teachers can be transformational – George Couros
CIMB Foundation supported the setting up / upgrade of computer labs at 10 Tamil primary schools in Selangor, Perak and Kedah, benefitting about 5,000 students.
The initiative is to provide the students from lower income families with the necessary resources and opportunities to access technology based education, whilst equipping the teachers with the latest Information and Communication (ICT) infrastructure.
The primary students are now able to learn basic coding and programming, basic animation, web programming and learn office applications which are thought by a dedicated team of IT teachers in the schools.
We hope this has helped to reduce the digital divide between urban and rural schools, and we the wish a great journey ahead for the teachers and students in the pursuit of ICT literacy and excellence!
