Associate Community Based Mental Health Coordinator
Established in 2007, Health Equity Initiatives (HEI) is a Malaysian not for profit health organization based in Kuala Lumpur.
The organization is committed to advancing the right to health of marginalized populations through its integrated and comprehensive core programs.
HEI’s team of health professionals carries out community based health interventions, professional mental health services, research and monitoring activities, and evidence based advocacy. HEI also has an internship and elective program for students of medicine.
HEI primarily works with refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia, and the organization believes community decision-making and participation are critical to empowering marginalized communities
HEI is currently looking to recruit an Associate Community Based Mental Health Coordinator with the following roles and responsibilities:
1. Support the coordination of the training of Community Health Workers’ (CHWs) including liaison with community, coordinating the development of the training program and implementing the training of CHWs including monitoring and evaluation.
2. Support the coordination of the development and implementation of the mental health promotion and screening activities among refugees in refugee communities
3. Oversight of the referral and patients management activities of CHWs.
4. Coordination of all reports that need to be generated for the Community-based Mental Health Promotion and Screening Program.
5. Facilitating the development and translation of all materials related to training and community outreach and providing content for social media when required
6. Documentation and reporting for Donor Reports on all of the above processes
Qualifications and criteria:
1. Masters in Counseling or Psychology
2. A Malaysian Citizen or Permanent Resident
3. A passion to serve communities in need
4. Able to strive in a multi-tasking and multi-ethnic environment
5. Strong leadership skills
6. Written and oral proficiency in English
