The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a not-for-profit, international membership organisation that is working to transform markets to make sustainable palm oil the norm. To do this, we have united stakeholders from all sectors of the palm oil supply chain and civil society to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil production and procurement.
Since its inception in 2004, RSPO has enjoyed rapid growth and today has 5,000 members from 101 countries, including oil palm producers, processors, traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks, and non-governmental organisations. Thanks to the commitments and actions of these members, nearly 20% of the global supply of palm oil has already been certified as sustainable.

The Assistant Manager, Finance, will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounting-related matters of the RSPO Secretariat and Overseas Branch Accounts. Ensuring the monthly closing activities of RSPO Secretariat Sdn Bhd (RSPOSSB) and Overseas Branches are completed in accordance with the Malaysian Financial Reporting standards (MFRS) and Standard Operating Policies in a timely and accurate manner.
The location of this role is Malaysia.
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the RSPO Secretariat and Overseas Branch consolidated monthly management and financial reports in accordance with the MFRS.
Review and approve journal entries raised by the Finance Executives. To ensure all journal posting/ transaction matching are completed in a timely manner and accurately captured in Financial Force.
Review monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Accounts Payable aging and Bank Reconciliations. Ensure all required month end reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner for monthly management reporting.
Assist in the monitoring, coordination, preparation and analysis of the annual budget for the RSPO Secretariat and Overseas Branches.
Assist with tax compliance, including annual corporate income tax preparation. Support indirect tax reporting such as Withholding Tax and Sales and Service Tax.
Assist in the yearly financial audit (i.e., review and preparation of audit schedules, responding to audit queries) and support periodic internal audits.
Supervise and oversee the Accounts Receivable function.
Manage the performance, provide guidance and identify competency development of direct
reports.
Apart from the duties stated above, to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance and working towards Chartered Accountant (CA) qualifications.
At least five (5) years working experience in accounting and finance functions.
Relevant experience in using Financial Force accounting software.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in dealing with international stakeholders and/or working in non-profit organisations.
