Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million supporters, members and activists in over 150 countries and territories who campaign to end grave abuses of human rights.
We are independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion, and are funded mainly by our membership and public donations.
After more than 50 years of ground-breaking achievements, Amnesty International is now embarking on a major process of evolution, to adapt to the dramatic changes in the world we operate in, and to increase the impact of our human rights work.
In Malaysia, Amnesty International plays a crucial role in shedding the spotlight on human rights infringements in the country and globally. Taking this role seriously, our members have joined forces on numerous occasions to help those whose lives are risk with urgent actions and campaigns.
Human Rights Education also plays a big role in our annual agenda which pays equal importance in interaction with adults as much as children who form the future of this country’s human rights standards.
