Description
How will Malaysia pay for universal health coverage as its population ages?
Join Dr. Muhammed Anis Bin Abd Wahab, Chief Medical Officer, ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Officer at the National Health Financing Section, Health Transformation Office, Ministry of Health Malaysia, for Plenary Talk 2 "Funding Universal Health Coverage in an Aged Malaysia" at the Ageing with Dignity Policy Roundtable.
Theme: "Financing for Medical and Long-Term Care in an Ageing Malaysia"
The talk will look at the National Health Fund proposed under the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (RMK-13). The fund pools taxes, pro-health levies, zakat and state funds to reform how Malaysia pays for healthcare for an ageing population. It will also look at how this fits with wider health reforms led by MOH, and what it means for stakeholders inside and outside the health sector who are working to strengthen Malaysia's care economy.
Venue: UCSI University
The roundtable will be held under the Chatham House Rule, and its outcomes will go directly into a report for relevant ministries.
