Mathura Kannan

Mathura Kannan is the Co-Founder and Advisor of Ascendance, an International Youth Organization that has impacted over 50,000 students over the past 8 years. Ascendance provides a platform for students to discover their passion and develop their careers while still in school, ultimately contributing back to their communities. They aim to impact and inspire #OneMillionTeens to embark on this experience.

Mathura has been recognized as a Regional Finalist for the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Awards for her outstanding contribution to SDG 4 – Quality Education. Notably, she was honoured with the UK based Diana Award for her work in 2019.

Mathura is a Chartered Accountant and the Junior Director at Simply Empowering, an Outsource Accounting and Business Advisory service provider. She is also the author of “Money Matter$ – The Guide to Finance & Life for Gen Zs” and runs a talk show, “Money Matter$”, to bring together the experiences and knowledge of various individuals on money management.

In June 2022, she embarked on her latest adventure of leading the social business incubator, ET Ideas Group, as the CEO. She manages the incubator with the ET Ideas Council to provide a platform for individuals who aim to build businesses that add value to the world.

I strongly believe that each and every one of us possesses unique talents, strengths and capabilities that holds the key to making a positive impact on the world. Each of us needs to take the time to get to know ourselves better, unearth our true potential, and then put those gifts to good use. As we utilise it for the betterment of both humanity and the environment, we can make the world a better and more harmonious place for everyone.
